Sugar Cookies Ingredients
Wet Ingredients
All-Purpose Flour:
This sugar cookie recipe requires flour to create the cookie dough and flour for rolling. Lightly, sift the flour to remove any lumps and unwanted debris which could affect the quality of the sugar cookie dough.
Baking Powder:
The amount of baking powder rises these sugar cookies just the right height.
Salt:
The salt intensifies the flavor of the cookies thus, salt is not optional.
Dry Ingredients
Unsalted Butter:
While you can use salted butter, unsalted butter is better since it’s easier to manage the salt content in the cookies.
White Sugar:
The white sugar creates browner and crisper cookies. Plus the white sugar also helps the cookies spread just enough to create well shaped sugar cookies.
Extract:
For this recipe vanilla extract or a combination of banana extract and coconut extract can be used to flavor these sugar cookies.
Egg:
The egg holds the cookies together giving them their nice firm structure. However, too much eggs can create cakey cookies.
Thus, to create a nice firm well leveled cookies just half an egg is needed.

Don’t Panic If …
Sugar Cookie Dough Crumbles
If your sugar cookie dough crumbles don’t panic. It’s okay – just continue forming the dough using your hands and it will come together. For quicker results, wet your hands slightly then continue forming the cookie dough.
Cookie Was Baked For 7 to 8 Minutes But Not Golden Brown
If your cookies are not golden brown don’t panic and don’t put them back in the oven. Instead, allow cookies to continue baking on the cookie tray for a few minutes.
