Here’s what I received in my first BoxyCharm ever!

I am officially a charmer now!

My First BoxyCharm Unboxing

Thanks to BoxyCharm for opening the waitlist which BTW is still open, so if you’ve waited to get on now is the chance.

My First BoxyCharm

The first box was great – the only thing missing in there was some foundation to “beat my face”.

They did a great job selecting these products.

Full-Size Products No Mini Bottles or Foil

It doesn’t get any better than that for $21! – It really doesn’t.

Unlike other beauty subscription services, BoxyCharm beauty box has 4 to 6 full-size products monthly.

BoxyCharm Subscription is More Than 10 Bucks, But Do The Math

While BoxyCharm subscription is more than the average price of most beauty subscription boxes, the value of the products in the box is way over $21.

What Was In My First BoxyCharm Beauty Box

I receive 6 products in this first beauty box.

The box included a gel eyeliner, highlighter and contour palette,  primer, powder brush, a trio brush set, and matte lip gloss.

BoxyCharm May 2018: PÜR The Complexion Authority Sculptor Palette

PÜR The Complexion Authority Sculptor Palette: This is a great highlighter and contour palette.

The shades are pigmented, and I can actually use the contour shades.

BoxyCharm May 2018: Cover FX Blurring Primer

Cover FX – Blurring Primer: For me, this was the best deal in the box.

I wanted to try the Cover FX blurring primer for the longest, but I wasn’t ready to fork out $38 for a primer I wasn’t sure would work.

Anyway, I am happy I finally tried it, but I wasn’t blown away, so this will not be restocked when the tube is empty.

BoxyCharm May 2018: Aesthetica Pro Brush Series

Aesthetica Pro Brush Series: These brushes are well-made, but for $45 I wouldn’t purchase this trio.

However, I wasn’t mad at seeing them in my box.

Overall good brushes, however, I wish the angled eyeliner brush wasn’t so thick – I prefer eyeliner brushes thinner.

This trio comes with:

  • An Angled Eyeliner Brush
  • A Brow Spoolie
  • A Fine Tipped Eyeliner Brush

BoxyCharm May 2018: Aesthetica Face Brush Review

Aesthetica Face Brush: The bristles are soft, and the brush is well-made, like the trio set.

Again, this wouldn’t be a purchase, but I guess that’s the beauty of BoxyCharm – trying highly-priced products you would probably never try because of the price!

BoxyCharm May 2018: Beauty Creations Long Wear Matte Lip Gloss

Beauty Creations Long Wear Matte Lip Gloss: I like the color of this matte lip gloss, but I don’t like the formula.

I expected the formula to dry down fully without being sticky, but it never did.

This matte lip gloss was sticky, and it felt heavy on the lips.

BoxyCharm May 2018: Pretty Vulgar, The Ink Gel Eyeliner

Pretty Vulgar, The Ink Gel Eyeliner: This formula is definitely a dupe for Anastasia Beverly Hills brow pomade.

It dries down the same way and has the same consistency.

However, depending on your skin tone, it might be too dark to use it as a brow gel.

I will probably do I full review with swatches comparing the two.

Dupe business aside, the color of this gel eyeliner is not as black as I would prefer it to be.

I compared it to three other eyeliners, and it’s not as dark.

So if you prefer your gel liners extremely black, this one will disappoint you.

Is BoxyCharm Worth It?

This is my first BoxyCharm beauty box, but girl … I am also subscribed to Ipsy, Play By Sephora, and Birchbox, however, it’s never this good.

This box is well over the $21 I paid.

If you are hesitating about subscribing to BoxyCharm girl … be like the Nike logo and just do it!

  1. Yes, Erica! … that feeling. ? The other beauty boxes seem trivial in the scheme of things. I have some decisions to make. ?

  2. Oooh! This box seems pretty great! I would have loved the primer and that gel liner (but ouch the cost), almost makes me want to sign up. I hate being broke.

  3. Overall it was. You are right the primer and the gel liner is pricey if it wasn’t in this box I wouldn’t buy it. Girl, I know the feeling the struggle is real.
