Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer Is A High-End Primer
After reading and watching so many great reviews about the Hourglass Veil Primer I decided to give it a try and boy was that a mistake. There are so many positive reviews about this product as a result, you don’t really give the bad reviews the credit and weight many of them rightfully deserve.
Consequently, these positive reviews encourage you to purchase the product without too much concern for bad reviews. I honestly don’t know how this primer has so many positive reviews. Many of these positive reviews consider this product to be a staple makeup product for oily skin. Overall, this product was just a huge disappointment.
Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer Caked-Up
This made my pores, and oily skin looks a 100 times worse. For the price, this performed poorly. I would not be disappointed if the product was cheap. After your makeup application your skin will look flawless but after an hour, your makeup starts to “cake-up” really badly.

It seems the product adds another layer onto the skin and when that layer completes breaks up due to the absorption of excess oil it then begins to thicken then it mixes with the other layer of foundation causing the foundation to swell up. Hence, your pores become very visible and your skin looks like you emptied a whole bottle of foundation on your face – it’s not a flattering look at all.
Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer Is Overpriced and Overhyped
I purchased the travel size hoping that it would be great then I would invest in the full size. Usually, if I purchase a travel size or sample I keep it even if I am not too happy, well not this one. I quickly returned the primer back to the store. Shipping was free, fortunately, thanks to Sephora.
I would be mad if I had to pay to return this product. The primers by e.l.f. cosmetics do a better job than this primer for a fraction of the price. Based on my experience this product is just overpriced and overhyped. I am starting to really side eye these comment sections on online retail stores. All these so call positive reviews can’t all be real!
What’s your favorite makeup primer?
That’s a shame that you didn’t like it. Personally I do get on with this primer but I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s worth the high price tag. I’m happy to use much cheaper primers and I’m loving the Dior Forever and Ever Wear primer or even cheaper….The Ordinary High Adherence Silicone primer! Great post xx

I had so much high hopes for it but it just didn’t work. I have been lucky with foundations but not primers. I will keep on searching – there must be one out there that could work for my skin. I have been thinking about getting the Dior Forever Perfect foundation ? I’m looking for an excuse to splurge. Maybe I will try their primer and see how that works out. Thanks for stopping by ?
