If you have been keeping up with the beauty subscription world you would know by now Ipsy Glam Plus is now the best beauty subscription box you can get your hands on right now.
Yes! I have tested, compared and criticized so this conclusion is warranted. No real talk they really are. In regards to the type of products, they are now offering in their beauty boxes if you are a makeup and skincare junkie then this is the box you need to get your hands on.
Not So “Posh Customer Service”
Now in terms of customer service, some subscribers have voiced they have experience not so “posh customer service”. However, I can’t relate, because so far I always get what I pay for. Meaning, not once have I ever received damaged products. In fact, the products are always neatly packed in Ipsy’s huge box and fragile products are always well protected with extra bubble wrap.
However, I am sure some subscribers are not so lucky. Hopefully, by their first anniversary, they would have figure out and dealt most growth pain issues affecting customer service.

Ipsy Glam Bag Plus Improvement
Ipsy is really out here being disruptive and I like it. It’s good to see companies evolving and actually taking customers wants and needs into consideration. While their launching was far from ideal … cough cough … bait and switch box … the annoying waitlist … cough … ditching the glam bag …. cough … they have really bounced back. For $25 this box is a steal! Right now you just can’t beat that!
Ipsy Glam Bag Plus Improvement Vs BoxyCharm
It’s hard to talk about Ipsy and not talk about BoxyCharm these two boxes are very similar. However, with Ipsy’s recent improvements, Ipsy seems to have surpassed BoxyCharm even with BoxyCharm “golden box” BoxyLuxe! You might be saying, girl, you’re crazy! How are you comparing Ipsy Glam Bag Plus $25 box with BoxyCharm’s $50 BoxyLuxe! Like how could you? Well, let’s exam Ipsy Glam Bag Plus add-ons.
Ipsy Glam Bag Plus Add-ons
Competition between Ipsy and Boxycharm is fierce since both companies are now officially competing for similar market share. Before Ipsy launched Ipsy Glam Bag Plus, BoxyCharm was one of the top beauty subscription services offering full-size beauty products, but now things have changed. BoxyCharm now has real competition and by the looks of it, Ipsy is by no means a pushover.
When BoxyCharm launched Boxyluxe this was a brilliant move by the company since now being subscribed to BoxyCharm beauty box became the requirement to receive BoxyLuxe. Overall they have a great sales funnel there’s no doubt about it. However, with the introduction of Ipsy Glam Bag add-ons BoxyCharm may have to improve the type of products they include in BoxyLuxe and here’s why.
Ipsy Glam Bag Plus add-ons allow Ipsy subscribes to add deluxe sample size and full-size beauty products to their boxes before they are shipped. In fact, Ipsy subscribers can add up to 3 full-size products in their boxes for the month. Currently, each deluxe sample size product is $3, and each full-sized products costs $12. So let’s compare that to BoxyLuxe.
If an Ipsy subscriber decides to use an additional $25 for add-ons they could add at least two additional full-size products to their bag easily with free shipping. The freedom Ipsy gives customers to add products they actually want through add-ons is the game changer Ipsy and Ipsy subscribers needed. Now customers have a chance to curtail their boxes to their liking by using add-ons. All in all, the team member or team who came up with this idea deserves a raise.
Ipsy Current Competitive Strategy Is On Fire
In Ipsy Glam Bag Plus January box, I added ColourPop’s 2017 holiday limited edition $20 eyeshadow palette to my box for $12 dollars and I couldn’t be happy. Now did I plan to buy this palette? Nope! I actually didn’t even know the palette existed however when I saw it as an add-on I was like okay this is pretty and added it immediately even when I was already extremely happy with the items I was already receiving in my Ipsy Glam Bag Plus January box.
We Are About To Be Broke
Ipsy’s add-on section is about to have all of us going broke as long as they keep on adding good deals. Their current competitive strategy is a great way to deal with BoxyLuxe competition. In conclusion, Ipsy’s current competitive strategy is on fire. However, the main question is does BoxyCharm have enough water to put out the fire or are they going to perish in Ipsy’s raging flames?
