Ipsy Glam Bag Plus Upgrade Waitlist Dilemma
So I finally got the Ipsy Glam Bag Plus upgrade email only to be disappointed after I clicked the upgrade button. Seems both Ipsy and BoxyCharm are creating demand neither can fulfill.
Ipsy said I was lucky! Lucky how? What is lucky about me being placed on a waitlist when I actually wanted the October Ipsy Glam Bag Plus? Clearly, someone at Ipsy misinterpreted the meaning of lucky.
Anyway, I understand there are limited Glam Plus bags so everyone will not receive the first Glam Plus bag. However, to say I am lucky but you can’t supply the demand you are creating is just crazy.
So I am on the waitlist for Glam Plus but Ipsy is asking me to help them increase their subscribers in order for me to possibly get off the list sooner – SMH! Whoever thought this strategy is brilliant and crazy.
Brilliant – Subscribers who really want to get off the list will actually invite their friends. Resulting in Ipsy gaining free access to their subscribers’ email list.
Crazy – If a business creates the demand for a product they should have the resources to meet the demand – they shouldn’t have customers jumping through hoops. Yes, hoops – that’s what Ipsy have their customers doing in order to receive the goods they are selling.

As much as I don’t agree with the way Ipsy is handling Glam Bag Plus upgrade I have to admit it’s better than being greeted by BoxyCharm’s 502 error web pages (read more about BoxyLuxe upgrade fiasco here).
If it’s any consolation, at least Ipsy seems to value and respect customers time, so I will wait to get off Ipsy’s waitlist, however, I hope it’s worth the wait.
Glam Bag Plus Sign Up Or Forget It
If you do sign up for Ipsy Glam Bag Plus be aware you may very well be placed on a waitlist. In addition, most likely Ipsy will add you to their regular subscription service while you wait. So if you are not interested in receiving samples while you wait I highly recommend waiting until Ipsy figures it all out. On the flip side if you don’t mind receiving samples while you wait then you may consider getting on the list now. Good luck!
