Last post I spoke about BoxyLuxe upgrade fiasco and the introduction of Ipsy Glam Bag Plus. Well looks like Ipsy is here to disappoint a few customers too.

What You Should Know About Ipsy Glam Bag Plus Upgrade

Ipsy Glam Bag Plus Upgrade Waitlist Dilemma

So I finally got the Ipsy Glam Bag Plus upgrade email only to be disappointed after I clicked the upgrade button. Seems both Ipsy and BoxyCharm are creating demand neither can fulfill.

Ipsy Plus Waiting List Dilemma

Ipsy said I was lucky! Lucky how? What is lucky about me being placed on a waitlist when I actually wanted the October Ipsy Glam Bag Plus? Clearly, someone at Ipsy misinterpreted the meaning of lucky.

Ipsy Glam Bag Plus Waiting List Dilemma

Anyway, I understand there are limited Glam Plus bags so everyone will not receive the first Glam Plus bag. However, to say I am lucky but you can’t supply the demand you are creating is just crazy.

Glam Bag Plus Upgrade
So I am on the waitlist for Glam Plus but Ipsy is asking me to help them increase their subscribers in order for me to possibly get off the list sooner – SMH! Whoever thought this strategy is brilliant and crazy.

Brilliant – Subscribers who really want to get off the list will actually invite their friends. Resulting in Ipsy gaining free access to their subscribers’ email list.

Crazy – If a business creates the demand for a product they should have the resources to meet the demand – they shouldn’t have customers jumping through hoops. Yes, hoops – that’s what Ipsy have their customers doing in order to receive the goods they are selling.

As much as I don’t agree with the way Ipsy is handling Glam Bag Plus upgrade I have to admit it’s better than being greeted by BoxyCharm’s 502 error web pages (read more about BoxyLuxe upgrade fiasco here).

If it’s any consolation, at least Ipsy seems to value and respect customers time, so I will wait to get off Ipsy’s waitlist, however, I hope it’s worth the wait.

Glam Bag Plus Sign Up Or Forget It

If you do sign up for Ipsy Glam Bag Plus be aware you may very well be placed on a waitlist. In addition, most likely Ipsy will add you to their regular subscription service while you wait. So if you are not interested in receiving samples while you wait I highly recommend waiting until Ipsy figures it all out. On the flip side if you don’t mind receiving samples while you wait then you may consider getting on the list now. Good luck!

  1. I got an email today saying I was off the waitlist…we shall see what this box is made of…I do however believe it’s shady business to say theres a waitlist and then turn around and ask more people to join to get ahead in said waitlist…greedy and ridiculous…I have put the last few glam bags on hold because despite always reviewing my products and updating my beauty preferences I recieved hair stuff which I didn’t check and those cheaply made Mrs glam brushes… I even put that I didnt like red lipstick..or I didnt check that box rather…the only box I did not check with lip color and i received the same red lippy twice after giving it a bad review the first time because the Formula was also horrid…and tje blue eyeshadow..oh lawd that blue eyeshadow I got in my last box…blue the only color I disnt not check as well lol…so I am just going to give it a go…cant wait for the December boxy luxe!!! XOXO

  2. Kimberly, girl I am this close to canceling every single one. They are greedy! I seriously hope this Glam Bag Plus is worth it because if it’s not a lot of customers will be mad including me. In regards to the beauty profile, I have just given up because they don’t use your information to customize the bags as they promise – it’s just a waste of time in most cases. I also can’t wait for December BoxyLuxe hopefully it’s a good box. 💃🏿

  3. So far my absolute fave is allure beauty box! It’s simple, But I always receive really really nice products are very expensive and worth way more than the $15 I pay. Also, I thought I was supposed be paying 615 but they only charge me $10.60. My first box I got an ALMOST full-size drunk elephant baby facial which was worth $95, My last box I got Sunday Riley’s probably half of her entire line. It’s done wonders for my face. If you guys aren’t already getting that when I would give it a go! Plus you get a free magazine every month

  4. Yes, Amanda Allure is great! They offer a well-balanced beauty box. I joined in September just for the Mac Ruby Woo then the plan was to cancel but I end up staying. 😅 They offer the best skin care samples.

  5. i completely with lack of professionalism.
i too am customer of both. took 3 mths to get off waitlist w Boxycharm. ipsy i cant even get ON the waitlist?
i feel rolling out youtube sales video’s before product is available is certainly a greedy concept.
why tease us w product not available?.

  6. Yes, it really is a greedy concept Nancy. I understand demand needs to be created for new services but you need the product. Overall, the waitlist situation is getting old.

  7. I am very new to ipsy, or other beauty subscription boxes, only 2 month so far. Have been reading all the messages about the plus box, which I am also interested, and the crazy waiting list. I think I have made the decision is I will buy whatever I want in the plux box spoiler even in retail price, because it is very well worth and flexible. No body really care about that 20 bulks, right!

  8. That’s a great idea Li! This month I added Colourpop’s 2017 holiday collection palette for $12. The add on is a really good option, especially for regular Ipsy subscribers. If things get bad with Ipsy plus I will definitely do this!
